Hi,
As many of you know, OSLIS offers video tutorials about how to do research. The videos are embedded throughout the Learn to Research section of the website. Originally, the embedded videos played from Vimeo. However, the OSLIS committee learned that several large school districts in Oregon block Vimeo. After surveying the top 20 districts by size, we learned that almost none block YouTube. Therefore, the embedded videos now play from YouTube instead of Vimeo. For those who prefer to use Vimeo or SafeShare, there are links above each video to the same video on those two platforms.
Also, now when you watch an embedded Learn to Research video on OSLIS, YouTube will loop to the next video in the OSLIS YouTube channel. That means it is more difficult to stray after watching an OSLIS video on YouTube.
Have questions about the videos? This OSLIST post explains what topics are covered, how to access closed captioning and transcripts, and where to find the videos. Or, as always, you are welcome to ask me.
Thanks,
Jen
