Hi,
There is a lot of news to share, so I tried to consolidate related topics into one email.
MARC Records for New eBooks in National Geographic Kids
For those who add, or would like to add, to your library catalog the MARC records for eBooks from National Geographic Kids, know that a batch of records for new eBooks was added this month. You can download and add the newest records, or add all of them. Notice the instructions for Destiny users in the “All Files” section on the Gale support page for Oregon library staff. Thanks again to Miranda Doyle for writing the Destiny instructions.
Access My Library => Gale App
Just a friendly reminder that Gale has an app, Access My Library, for mobile access to their databases. Users should be prompted to enter their password (the password portion of their Gale login), and then they should not need to enter a password again for a year. If your school is not an option in the list, let me know.
National History Day & U.S. History in Context
National History Day promotes student research and critical thinking skills around a broad theme, and this year it is Triumph and Tragedy in History. For some, the process culminates in a national competition in June. If your MS or HS students are participating, they may find the National History Day topic page in U.S. History In Context helpful when working on their essays.
Translation Tool
…in the Gale databases is still not working correctly for some languages. Gale is still working with their vendor to try to get the issues resolved.
Questions? Please ask.
Thanks,
